The given line chart illustrates the alterations and differences in the number of enquiries received by the Tourist Information Office in one city over a six-month period in 2011. There are three methods that customers used to transfer their inquiries: in person, by letter or email and by telephone.
In general, the research experienced a downward trend in customers choosing communication through phone, contrary to upward trend in customers using email, letter and face to face meeting.
The number of enquiries by letters and emails stood at 750 at the beginning, then slightly falling by 100 to 650 enquiries in Feb and maintained stable in Mar. After that, the research witnessed a constantly diminishing by 100 enquiries in Apr to 350, then plunge to 350 enquiries in May and maintained that number in Jun.
The number of enquiries received by phone experienced a decreasing from 850 to 800 enquiries in first 2 months of the years, contrary to a notable increasing by 200 to 1000 enquiries in Mar, following a levelling out in Apr. After that, a swift and significant growth was documented in customers communicating through phone by 400 to 1400 in May, before went to the peak at 1600 in Jun
In conclusion, while communication through phone and face to face experienced constant growth, enquiries by letter or email underwent diminishing over the first six months in 2011
