The chart illustrates the number of enquiries that the city Tourist Information Office received in the first two quarters of the year 2011.
Overall, telephone and face-to-face enquiry became more and more popular while letter or email enquiry trend noticeably decreased over the period. Another prominent feature is that the number of telephone enquiries were the highest over the first quarter, whereas in-person enquiry was in a dominant position during the second quarter.
In January, there were around 400 in-person enquiries and 900 telephone enquiries. Between January and March, while the number of enquiries via telephone slightly dropped before recovering to 1000, the figures for in-person query doubled from around 400 to 800. The level of email enquiries, however, remained relatively stable at about 700 in this period.
During the second quarter, enquiries via letter and email significantly fell, reaching its record low at just south of 400 in May and leveled off. By contrast, telephone enquiry significantly climbed to 1600 in June. The same tendency can be seen in the figures for in-person enquiry which experienced the most remarkable growth and peaked at 1900 enquiries as the period wound up.
