The graph below shows the number of overseas visitors to three different areas in a European country between 1987 and 2007. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
This line graph indicates the number of foreigners dropping by 3 given sights on a European continent from 1987 to 2007.
Generally, it can be seen that in 1987, the coast was the most well-known tourist trap in the surveyed area. Nevertheless, lakes seems to be the least attractive among the 3 areas.
Despite a slight fall in the figure of foreign visitors travelling to the coast in 1992 , this area experienced a considerable upward trend after 1992, from 35 thousand to nearly 80 thousand in 2007 .
The amount of individuals paying for a trip to the lakes in a given area rocketed up to 75 thousand in 2002. However, a dramatic drop appeared after 2002, which led to the reduction of nearly 25 thousand visitors in 2007.
Despite a fluctuation in the amount of people willing to spend money on a visit to the mountains during the surveyed period, this figure began to rise slightly after 2007. This can be attributed to the increasing popularity of outdoor activities such as skiing and snowboarding. Additionally, the natural beauty of the mountains has continued to attract tourists, boosting local economies.
