The graphs illustrate the quantity of shops which were closed as well as the amount of new shops which were opened in a nation over the period of 8 years since 2011.
As can be seen from the line graphs, the number of shops closures and opening witnessed a significant fluctuation between 2011 and 2018
To begin with, beginning at the highest point which was around 8,500, the number of shops that were opened dropped dramatically to just under 4,000 after a year. Two years later, the data of shops opening increased gradually by 2,000 before that it went down to 4,000 in 2015. In addition, the figure of shops which was still running remained nearly the same over 2 years, with around 4,000. After 1 year, it went down to 3,000 which was the lowest point of its line graph.
On the other hand, the figure for shop closures fluctuated around 6,500 between 2011 and 2014. It dropped significantly by 6,000 and reached the lowest point of the graph. One year later, people closed shops again with a significant rise of 5,000. For the last 2 years, the data of shops opening remain stable at around 5,000.
