The line graph illustrates international travellers who visit three different areas of a European country from 1987 to 2007.
Overall, the number of overseas visitors to all three areas increased over the period of 20 years. Although the figures for visitors fluctuated during the period, the coast and the lake – mountain areas are more popular.
In the year 1987, there were 40 thousand people went to the coast area, 20 thousand people went to the Series 3 while only 10 thousand people chose the lake and mountain area for their destination. In 2002, the number of visitors to the coast, the Series 3 and the lake-mountain area was nearly 62 thousand, 25 thousand and 75 thousand respectively. From 1987 to 2002, there was a general increase in the travellers to the coast and the lake- mountain area. However the number of visitors who came to the lake-mountain area was grew more significantly than to the coast and finally hit its highest point in 2002 at 75 thousand people. The number of visitors to Series 3 fluctuated.
In 2007, the number of foreign visitors arrived to the coast and the lake- mountain area was 55 thousand and 66 thousand respectively; while 35 thousand people chose Series 3 as their destination. From 2002 to 2007, more visitors tended to visit Series 3 while there was a ssteady decline in other areas.
