It is clear that room in a shared house or flat with other students were the most popular types, in terms of overall, throughout the period shown. The lowest figures on the charts are for students hall of residence and at home with own family.
In 1960s, students choose room in a shared house or flat with other students and paying guest with a host family were the same data at 35%. While the data on students hall of residence and at home with own family were 15%. Over the following 20 years, the figures for all four types of student accommodation increased overwhelming in room in a shared house or flat with other students. While the data for three types decreased at 15%, 20% and 5%, respectively.
By 1990s, the amount of room in a shared house or flat with other students at 65% and reached a peak at 70% in 2000s. Subsequently, the figure for students hall of residence and paying guest with a host family fell about 13% and 5% respectively in 2000s while the figure for at home with own family declined over 40 years but rose again nearly 13% in the last decade.
