A glance at the graph given indicates the alteration in population in the US state of Oregon's 3 counties, Yamhill, Columbia, and Washington, from 1940 to 2000.
In overall, the population of the 3 counties in Oregon grew, especially in the latter half of the surveyed period.
According to the graph, the 2 counties of Columbia and Yamhill's population growth followed a similar pattern from 1940 to 2000. Whereas in Yamhill, there were 30000 people in 1940 and then, the number rose gradually to 90000 people 60 years later, the number of people making a home in Columbia was only less by around 1000 in 1940 and 5000 in 2000.
On the contrast, the county of Washington obviously attracted more people with 75000 residents at the starting point of the surveyed period. Throughout the first half of 30 years, more people steadily resided in Washington county, which made the number go up to over 120000 in 1970. Ultimately, the number shot up dramatically and peaked at over 240000 people at the end of the 60-year period.
