From then on, it continued to surpass the other 3 groups dramatically to reach the record high of 59% in 2010, despite a plunk to 50% in 2008.
While both starting at around 5% in the beginning, the 35-44 group's rate increased at a faster pace than 45 and over group to reach the number of 40% in 2010, higher by 19% compared to the rate of 45 and over group.
Overall, the percentage of people from all age groups going to the gym experienced a growth throughout the 20-year surveyed period.
