The line graph illustrates the amount of population in India and China since 2000 and forecasts its growth in the time span between the present and the year 2050.
Overall, it is clear from the graph that China was more populated than India at the beginning. However, being the rise in Indian population steeper than in Chinese one, a prevision is that in 2030 the two curves will cross leading to a situation in which Indians will start to be more than Chinese, who on the contrary will face a sharp decline in number.
In 2000, Chinese were around 1,250 billion more than 250 million compared to Indians. Both trends present to be upward until 2030 when, after reaching a flat maximum at 1,450 billion, the number of people in China will begin to go down whereas India will continue to have a rapid increase in population.
According to projections, the final picture is that by 2050 India will climb to 1,600 billion inhabitants, on the other hand China will count 1,400 billion people.
