The graph below shows the proportion of four different materials that were recycled from 1982 to 2010 in a particular country.

The line garph provides information about the percentage of four varied substances namely paper and cardboard, glass containers, aluminum cans and plastics according to their recycling rates between the period 1982 and 2010.

Overall, the highest re-utilized product was paper and cardboard whereas, Plastic was least recycled material. In contrast, recycling of aluminum cans showed constant rise. In comparison with, the year 1990-1994 all the components rose in recycling.

Paper and cardboard was the largest recycled material around 65% initially in year 1982 and second to it was glass containers at the half of total proportion of recycling. Both showed decline in recycling between the period of 1986 to 1990. Whilst, glass containers increased compared to paper and cardboard which fell but maintained the upward trend at the end about 70% and 60% respectively.

Aluminum cans rose steadily from 1984 around 2% and reached about 45% in 2008. Plastic was least recycled, beginning in the year 1998 about 1% showed constant growth below one in ten of total recycling.
