The line graph illustrates the percentage of people aged 65 and more from 1940 to 2040 in three different nations including Japan, Sweden and the USA.

According to the graph, it is clear that the proportion of people aged 65 and over in each country increased. Noticeably, Japan is expected to see the most dramatic change.

Overall, in the year 1940, elderly people aged 65 in the USA was the highest, standing at 9%. This was followed by Sweden and Japan at 7% and 5% respectively. Noticeably, both the USA and Sweden experienced an upward tendency in the percentage of older people aged 65, to around 15% in 1995. Meanwhile, there was a slight decrease in Japan at this point in (of) time.

Interestingly, Japan is projected to have a significant rise in the population aged 65 and more during the last 10 years, from 10% to nearly 28%. Likewise, Sweden and the USA will also grow marginally.
