Overall, the ratio of elderly people in the USA and Sweden has remained higher than that in Japan in 1940 and would be still 2030. However, there is the prediction that the ratio of elderly people in Japan population will have a sharp rise over that in USA and Sweden afterward.
At the start of the period, the ratio of citizens who aged 65 or above was around 5 to 10 % in three countries. It steadily increased in USA and Sweden over 40 years in 1989, while the aging population in Japan slightly slumped in the ranked nation. The USA was the country which has the highest ratio of aged people in the population.
In the later period, the proportion of aged people in the population of Sweden jumped over the ratio of USA. Addition, The number of elderly people in Japan’s population has started going up since 1989.
