The line chart illustrates that four different kinds of commercial transportation in the UK over the 28 years.
It is noticeable that four types of carriages were on the rise from 1974 to 2002, however, using rail to transport goods increased the least in these modes. However, road transportation was always the popular form in cargo transportation.
From 1974 to 2002, highway transportation was the highest good transported in UK which the tonnes increased from 70 million to nearly 100 million. At the same time, the transportation kind of pipeline was in the same trend which increased from nearly 0 million to 21 million tonnes. However, people in UK who preferred to choose road transportation instead of pipeline because the pipeline method was the lowest quantities in these four transportation types.
In addition, through water and rail to transport good were nearly the same which were 39 million and 40 million in 1974. Nevertheless, in the pass 27 years, water transportation increased over rail transportation and the turning point was in 1978. Although railway transportation decreased, from 1994, this kind of transported increased. In 2002, the quantities of goods was over the 1974 which transported 41 million tonnes.
