The graph below shows the quantities of goods transported in the UK between 1974 and 2002 by four different modes of transport.

The line graphs provide information the amount of products transported in the Britain by using different modes of transport namely road, water, rail and pipeline from the year of 1774 to 2002. Units are measure by millions of tones.

Overall, the highest amount goods are transported by road while least amount transported by pipeline. Water and rail transport are steadily increased throughout the period.

According to the line graph, in 1974 around 70 and 40 million tones products are transported in the UK by road and rail transport. The goods transported by road was significant increased and reached to about 100 million tons in 2000. On the other hand, rail transport used are decreased to about 30 million tones goods are transported in 1994 and it rose to over 40 millions tones in 2000.

At the beginning of the period nearly 40 million tones goods were transported by water transport and then it grew to over 60 million in 2000. In the UK people lowest amount goods were transported by pipeline which was less than 10 million tons in 1974 and it rose to around 20 million at the end of the period.
