The given line graph provides information about the amount of merchandises conveyed in Great Britain during the period from 1974 to 2002 by four various types of transport, namely by Road, water, Rail and pipeline. As regards the diagram, the quantities of shipments transported by Road and water showed significant rise by the end of the period, while the rate of consignment by rail Illustrated erratic trend over the period and level off in the end of the period.
The largest quantities of goods girl transported by Road (about 70 million tonnes in 1974 and just under 100 million tonnes in 2002), while the minor amount was by pipeline was approximately 5 million tonnes in the start of the period and marginally above 20 million tons by the end.
The number of goods transferred by water and rail was almost the same in 1974 (slightly under 4 million and exactly 40 million respectively).
