Overall, every category witnessed upward trends throughout the years. Moreover, the cost of fresh fruits and vegetables increased the most significantly among the given items.
In 1979, all of the prices’ growth rate stood at 50%. After six years, although the charge for fresh fruits and vegetables fluctuated, the three of them climbed gradually by approximately 100%. Then, people had to pay much more for fresh fruits and vegetables as its prices rose sharply and reached the highest point of the graph at approximately 325% in 2008, finishing at well under that one year later.
On the other hand, the other two aspects went up moderately. Sugar and sweet’s prices ended up being four times higher than in 1979 with 200%, compared to only more than 150% falling into the figures for that of carbonated drinks.
