Overall, there was a general upward trend in the average expenditure on cell phone services by American people, whereas the annual spending on residential phone services experienced a reverse pattern over the given years.
$700 was paid for residential phone services in the US in the first year. After that, the money used for these services showed a constant decrease to around $500 in 2007 before continuing to fall noticeably to hit its lowest point of just over $400.
In comparison, American consumers allocated $200 to cell phone services, which was much lower than that of residential ones at the beginning of the decade. Afterward, it can be seen that Americans spent more on using cell phone. Specifically, there was a steep rise in the annual spending throughout the years, exceeding the figure for residential ones and peaking at approximately $750.
