The fast-food consumption in the UK between 1970 and 1990 is presented in the line graph.
Overall, the consumption of fish & chips and hamburger rose dramatically while the pizza consumption showed the reverse. Also, more people in the UK preferred to consume fish & chips compared to other fast food.
The figures for fish and chips consumption rose steadily from virtually 100 to about 150 grams, between 1970 and 1980, a rise of around 50, in a 10-year period. Again, the consumption of hamburger increased slightly by more or less 70. By contrast, a steady decline was seen in the amount of pizza consumed to just above 200. By 1990, both figures for fish & chips and hamburger continued to incline dramatically.
The former chart had shown a shown threefold increase (had tripled) and reacted by far the most popular fast food consumed by British (consumption in the UK) while the latter one the had increased to almost the pizza’s figure at the beginning of the year. After a long period of steady decline, the one for pizza had rebounced back to just above 200.
