The given line graph provides data on the number of men and women gym membership over the 30 – year period, starting from 1980.
In general, it is clear that both rates in the figures for male and female experienced the fluctuation trend from 1980 to 2010. We can also see that although the number of both 2 genders fluctuated, the number of male in most years is the highest.
In 1980, the figures for male gym membership stood at about 2000, twice as many as those for female. After that, the number of male rose sharply, which was 4000 in 1985, while those of female stood at 2000. However, over the 10 – year period, which started from 1985, there was a significant drop in the number of men, which was only 1700 in 1995, whilst it was seen the gradual increase in the figures for women, which hit a peak at nearly 3000 in 1995.
From then, the number of men peaked at 5000 in 2005, and after that it was seen the sharp drop, whereas those of women fluctuated from 1995 to 2010.
