The graph compares and projects the average age of citizen in different regions of Asia from the year 1950 to 2300.
Overall, the life expectancy in the past are extremely low in most areas, however it is forecast that by the end of the period these numbers will improved. In addition, the figures undergo fluctuations with upward trend in the first one hundred years then become soon become stable.
The average life time of Asian people has increased sharply between 1950 and 2000. To be precise, many regions, starting from 40 years old, has raised to about 60 to 70 years old, except for the “other Eastern Asia” demographic, where the figure began with above 50 years old and ended up with almost 80 years old in average. People in this region have the highest average age in general.
In the next 50 years, the growth of all groups are projected to slow down. Whilst individuals in China, South-east Asia and Western Asia are predicted to live up to 78 years old, India and Other South-central Asia region are slightly lower with about 73 years old. the prediction is that the other easterner Asia region will still higher than other region 10 years in term of life expectancy. It is noticeable that three hundred years from now, Asian people will likely to survive much longer in their old age. In order words, most part of Asia will have life expectancy about 90 years, in which the other easterner Asia group will be surprisingly over 100 years, followed by China with about 95 years old.
