The graph shows the number of marriages and disvorces in the UK between 1975 and 2000.
The line graph manifests the marriage categorised in three sectors and divorce scenarios in the UK over 25 years (1975-2000).
Overall, there was an escalation in all variables whilst the divergent pattern was an accurate description for the first marriage ratios despite its overwhelming data.
As can be observed, the total marriages climbed up to the peak of approximately 650 thousands before dipping by 100 thousands and eventually negligibly went up. Starting at roughly 350 thousands, the number of first marriages then leaped to around 400 thousands in 1985, after which it managed a fall of 100 thousands after 20 years.
Turning to the lesser values, there were around 250 thousands of second marriages and 80 thousands of divorces reported in the UK in 1975. Both of them implied an increase to 220 thousands in 1990, at which point the number of divorces surpassed the counterpart and further rose slightly. By contrast, a decline from 1990 to 1995 was witnessed in the indicator of second marriages, followed by a surge to 260 thousands by the end of the given timeline.
