The graphs below show the numbers of male and female workers in 1975 and 1995 in several employment sectors of the Republic of Freedonia.
Write a report for a university teacher describing the information shown.
Given the two diagrams which compare employment in Republic of Freedonia by sex in two different years : 1975 and 1995. There are six job sectors included in the graphs.
At a single glance, in Freedonia in 1975, men surpassed women in all job segments. However, two decades later, the scenario altered seeingly and women’s works showed a remarkable effort.
According to the chart showing the detail in 1975, male went far ahead of women in manufacturing, finance, retail trade, non-defence and defence public sectors. Interestingly, the amount of women working in manufacturing field was by far half of that of male workers’. Referring to communication aspects, the number of female employees was 280,000, which was a close-knit to man whose number of workers was 300,000.
20 years later, there was an immerse change in the graph. Women showed outstanding advancement in these job sectors and outpaced male workers in communication and wholesale. They became almost equal number in banking jobs. The sex gap in defence sectors also dipped considerably at the end of the given period. Yet, manufacturing job and non-defence public sector remained unchanged over decades.
