An investigation on the number of trips to other countries made by UK dwellers for various purposed was made between 1989 and 2001. The investigation was shown by a line graph and a table, whose figures registered for million of trips, 4 specific reasons and the total number of trips per annum.
At first glance, it is obvious that 1998 was a boom in the total number of trips with 73,5 millions travels made. Together with that, the majority of US citizens prefered to making their trips to travel on holidays during the course of time.
According to the graph and table, at the beginning of the period, 47 millions trips were made with 30 million of them went on holidays. Following are 9 millions on business, 5 millions on paying family visits and circa 3,5 millions on other reasons.1992 witnessed a slightly higher trend with 55,5 millions trips. Holidays continued to account for the major part and kept rising sharply when the other 3 purposes went through an ascending time. The same trend went on to 1993 with 68 millions trips, except for a noticeable drop in the amount of business trips and other causes. 3 years later, the total number of trips hit a high at nearly 74 millions, as well as 50 millions trips on holidays. Travels on family visits kept growing gradually, whereas categories going down in 1993 maintained their declines. Despite the growing trend, in 2001, figures encountered a descent to only 61 millions trips left. Only the quantity of trips paid for faimily joining escalated to 10 millions and more, meawhile all patterns undergone diminishment, include 19 millions trips on holidays, 9 million on business and 2 million on other reasons stated.
