The line chart compares how much time it would take for three companies to manufacture a car from 2000 to 2012.

The line chart illustrates how long three different enterprises need to produce a car between 2000 and 2012.
Overall, the time spent to make a car by three firms increased over a period of 12 years. In addition, the amount of time Toyota need to produce a car was lower than of Ford and Honda almost all the time surveyed.
In 2000, Toyota made a car for nearly 18 days, while Ford and Honda produced around 29 days and 32 days respectively. Over the following 4 years, the time needed to make a car of Toyota and Honda rose by around 3 days, but the figure for Ford decreased dramatically by approximately 18 days.
From 2004 to 2012, Honda’s time to build a car fluctuated, although it always remained over 35 days. However, between 2004 and 2008, the time of Toyota needs to make a car slightly fell to 19 days and unchanged throughout the remainder of the period. By contrast, during the same period, the figure for Ford saw a sharp jump from just over 10 days to about 40 days.
