The graph illustrates changes in the consumption of fast food of teenagers in Australia in the 25-year period between 1975 to 2000. It can be obviously seen that the number of times eaten of hamburgers and pizza have all increase while the fish and chips one has significantly declined.
The consumption of pizza and hamburgers dramatically climbed during that period. After starting at just 5 times in 1975, pizza gradually became prevalent, got a rapid increase until it reached a peak of almost 85 times in 1995, after which it plateaued for many years. The hamburgers at the beginning of the period were about 10. However, this was then followed by a surge and ultimately reached at the same level that fish and chips began, with consumption at 100 times per year in 2000.
The fish and chips consumption, on the other hand, shows a different trend, being on the decrease during this period of time. In 1975, the fish and chips proportion was the majority of fast-food consumption in Australia with a high of 100 times per year. However, after a ten-year period of volatility between 1975 and 1985, the demand for this fast food decreased sharply to about 40 times eaten in 2000.
In conclusion, Australian teenagers had a considerable change in choosing fast food from 1975 to 2000. Obviously, hamburgers and pizza were becoming more favored than fish and chips.
