The maps below show the center of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The two maps present the changes that will be made to the Islip town centre. Overall, the town will be larger and a lot of renovations can be observed.
Currently, the centre is close to a countryside. There is a single road dividing shops into two sections and before the shops is a housing area. A school is located in South area and to the East side of the map, there is a park.
After a lot of future modifications, the centre will turn out to be an oval shape, leading to the disappearance of the countryside. The single road will disappear and be replaced by a bigger dual carriageway. Moreover, the school will be construct bigger to serve more people. By contrast, the park will be significantly smaller to have enough place for new houses. The road for pedestrians will appear in the central of the oval shape with new facilities such as a bus station and a car park.
In a nutshell, the centre will have changed a great deal due to the fact that more facilities will be added, however the park will become smaller which means less place for green trees.
