The frames illustrate the present structure and future redevelopment plan of
Islip town center.
Overall, the navigation system will be changed completely, along with
relocation of old structures and also introducing several new facilities for
people’s convenience.
Talking about the first image, the navigation system is unevenly distributed
throughout the city. A narrow main road passes straight between of city having
shops on both North and South direction. Two paths diverging from the
beginning and end of main road contains School and Park at their end
respectively, space between them is used for housing area.
Having a look at the later image shows that the whole city will be enclosed
inside a Dual carriageway restricting entry of vehicles in town. Former main
road will be widened and only be used by pedestrians, On the North of this
path Bus station, shopping center and car parking will be constructed whereas
shops on the South will remain untouched. Park and school will retain their
position but school will be outside of the main city and also park will be small
in area and school will be developed a little. The remaining areas will be
utilized by building houses.
