The maps below show the changes in a town after the construction of a hydroelectric power dam
The pictures illustrate a number of significant changes which took place in a town after the construction of a hydroelectric power dam.
From the map, it is clear that the most noticeable change that occurred in the town was the huge lake. Moreover, irrigated farmlands and forests disappeared in 2010.
In 1990, there were irrigated farmlands to the east, and an ancient structure and rare plants and animals on the west side of the river. However, with the construction of a dam wall, those features disappeared and became a huge lake in the middle of 2010.
Looking at the maps in more detail, there were no forests in the north west, whereas there were more mountains in 2010. Meanwhile, the south was filled with mountains that had been replaced by electric dams. The river was shortened and the surrounding villages were shortened. A total of 8 power poles were installed around the river in 2010, increasing the number of poles to eight.
