The maps illustrate the development that has taken place in a city from 1950 to the present day.
In general, the most significant modification after decades is the renovation of the city's infrastructure, population, and economic area. It can be easily seen that there are also various newly built structures between 1950 and the current time.
Firstly, the whole city has experienced a growth in population density of 200,000 citizens. Besides, it is interesting to note that the enlargement of the business district and areas for citizen accommodation has been dramatic. Also, there has been a considerable southward expansion of the airport in the southeastern part of the city.
In addition, a reservoir stretching from west to east of the city has been created in the location of the river. Another major change is that the lately constructed thoroughfare running west-northeast on the other side of the river has intersected the existing one near the place where the bridge is currently set up. Additionally, there did not use to be a dam near the airport in 1950, but it has been established in the eastern part of the city after years. Another notable development has been the opening of a government building in the new residential area.
