The visual given illustrates the village of Stokeford in 1930 and in 2010. It can be seen that the village has gone under the process of modernisation and most of the farmland was removed and replaced with the housing objects.
At the top right-hand corner, below the bridge place, the road was expanded to the both, left and right, sides and houses around it were developed. The shops at the left of primary school were removed, and the school was extended with two large houses. Furthermore, the central area, below the post office, was extended with houses. Nearby gardens, to the right of this area, were reduced and number of the large houses were expanded. Among these houses, one of them were reconstructed into retirement home.
Finally, at the bottom hand corner, houses were developed around the both sides of the road.
To sum up, the village of Stokeford had undergone the major changes and a lot of green surfaces, such as farmland and gardens, were removed and reduced. Thus, the number of the small and large houses had increased significantly.
