The maps below show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and 2010.
The given maps illustrate several changes with regard to the village of Stokeford in 1930 and 2010.
As can be seen from these maps, the major changes took place alongside the main road, which ran from the bridge to the south of the village. Especially, the number of houses had increased dramatically and two farmlands had been removed by 2010.
In 1930, there were only a few housing units on both sides of the main road adjacent to the River stoke. They then witnessed a significant rise after 7 decades, accompanied by the erecting of new streets leading off from the old main road. In addition to this, two local shops and two agricutural areas had been torn down to make room for residential areas, whereas the Post office remained untouched over the period of 70 years.
Another change that standed out was in terms of primary school, which was enlarged with 2 more small buildings. Besides, the garden no longer existed to give way for a new road, which connected to the back part of this gaden after reconstructing with 2 new blocks. This new building was named retirement home.
