The maps below show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and 2010.
The given visuals reveal the information regarding the differences of the village of Stokeford in the period between 1930 and 2010.
In general, the neighbor witnessed various changes with the marked transformation of the whole village into housing areas and the mutual for elderly.
As is observed from the former map, to begin with, farmland seemed to take half of the village’s areas in the North East and West South side in 1930. To the center of the selected position, there were two shops and a post office in the middle of a row of houses, which were situated along two sides of a small path. Opposite to these buildings is an elementary school with a mighty special land nearby. The major occupation of this vacant land was the garden connected with a large luxury house at the end.
Turning to 80 years later, the most significant development was the extension of the roads in order to widen the space for residents’ accommodation. Hence, the large farmland and two small amenities were visibly converted into residences maybe to the response of the increasing population. What is more, despite remaining in the same location, the primary school was upgraded so as to respond to the rise of people moving here. The last conversion could be seen in the existence of the retirement home instead of the old garden and large house then.
