The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The line graph illustrates how many grams of fish and meat consumers ate in a particular European nation from 1979 to 2004.
Overall, the consumption of these different kinds of food fluctuated a lot, except for the figure for fish, which remained relatively the same during the period.
It can be seen on the graph that only the figure for chicken rose in this 25-year period. Starting at just the third position, chicken continued a stable climb with slight acceleration to reach a peak of 250 grams to become the highest consumption of meat in 2004. Meanwhile, the amount of fish consistently had the lowest figure when residents ate merely under 60 grams per person per week over the duration.
In contrast, opposite changes can be seen in the consumption of beef and lamb. To the former one, starting at the highest point at more than 200 grams in the year 1979, the amount of beef consumed fluctuated a lot in the first 10 years and then declined to roughly 100 grams. Similarly, lamb accounted for precisely 150 grams at first, followed by a considerable decrease and ended the period at approximately 70 grams.
