Overall,the number of students are constantly decreased in volutary-controlled schools and Grammar schools while Community schools showed a greater increase.

In the year 2000, more than half of the students joined in Voluntary-controlled schools, which is 52%. Following this, Grammar schools occupied the second place, which is nearly 24%. The two remaining schools, Specialist schools and Community schools has same number of children's accounting at 12%.

In 2005, the numbers are decreased in Voluntary-controlled schools, Grammar schools, Specialist schools, reached to 38%, 19%,11% respectively. On the other hand, Community schools had a greater increase of 20% in attendance and settled at 32%.

Similarly, in the last year 2009, the same trend continued. Voluntary-controlled schools, Grammar schools, Specialist schools experienced a downfall in attendance, correspondingly, these values are 20%,12%,10%. community schools showed a mammoth increase in school attendance, which is top in all the school highest percentages as 58%.
