From the pie chart, it is clear that unmarried females with no children dependent on them accounted for almost more than half of the women in poverty, whereas the single women with the depending child comprised one fourth of the total females under poverty. The married women with children and the married females with no children accounted for 8 per cent and 12 per cent respectively.
From the table, it is evident that under all the age groups females were found to be having higher poverty rate compared to males.Male and female children under the age group of 5 are having highest poverty rate and ranked first, while the teenage girls with the age ranging from 18-24 ranked second, followed by females in the age group of 25-34 which equates to the women with the age of 75 and above 75 years old. The males were found to be highly under poverty till 24 years of age, after which there is slight variation.
