It is noticeable that the more water used in two American regions goes to homes. By contrast, agriculture accounts for the vast majority of water usage worldwide.
Residential water consumption in San Diego and California accounts for 60% and 39% of the total water usage. Meanwhile, this figure accounts for only 8% of water used globally. The opposite trend can be seen when we look at the water usage for industry. Agriculture accounts for a massive 69% of global water consumption while the figures for San Diego and California is 17% and 28% respectively.
Such a dramtic difference can not be seen when we compare the figures of industrial water usage. This figure for San Diego County and worldwide is the same (23%), while the figure for California is 10% higher, at 33%.
