This pie charts compares the average amount spent on household items in Japan and Malaysia in 2010
Overall, the highest expenses made was on housing in Malaysia, however, this proportion was slightly lower in Japan. Food and other goods and services followed almost a similar trend, although, the amount spent on these items varied slightly in both regions.
To begin, as shown in the graph, the highest expenses made in Malaysia in 2010 was on housing which constituted about 34% and remained the highest amount used in purchasing household items for that year, however, in Japan, the amount was slightly lower. Following this, each family spents more than a fifth (29% and 26%) of their income on other goods and services in both regions respectively.
Next, the expenditure on food in Malaysia was 27% while that of Japan was 24% .finally, money used for transportation was a fifth in Japan and one in Ten in Malaysia. The least amongst all was healthcare, only a negligible amount was used for this purpose in both countries.
