The pie charts compare the percentage of the different equipment users to watch TV in Canada in two years (2009 and 2019).
Overall, the proportion of people who watch TV programs on the conventional TV, laptop, and desktop computer decreased, by contrast the amount of these people who use the mobile phone, tablet, and the flat-screen TV increased in this period (between 2009 and 2019). If in 2009 the conventional TV was the most favorite device, in 2019 it became the least popular equipment.
The most significant drop was the number of people who watch TV on conventional TV, from over a third in 2009 to 4% in 2019. In this period, the percentage of viewers who watch the television program on the laptop and desktop computer fell down, too. It dropped from about 20% to over 10%.
The opposite trend can be seen when we look at the charts, if in 2009 the proportion of the viewers who watch TV on the flat-screen TV was only under 10%, in 2019 the percentage of these viewers was the highest, it was under 30%. And the increase of the number of the viewer on the tablet was biggest, it rose about four times from 5% in 2009 to 19% in 2019. The rise from 15% to 26% was the number of viewers watch TV on the tablet in this period.
