The pie charts below show electricity generation by source in New Zealand and Germany in 1980 and 2010.
The given pie charts contrast the consumption of electricity divided by 5 main features in two countries in 1980 and 2010. Overall, total amount of electricity that was used almost doubled in Germany and New Zealand , from 107 units to 214 in the first country and from 127 to 200 in the second one.
According to the presented data, the structure of electricity consumption in New Zealand changed from 1980 to 2010. In the 80s nearly one-third(30 units) of all spent units had natural gas while within a time span of 30 years this number dramatically decreased to 2 units. However, other proportions the almost the same, for instance, the most significant part relates to the coal.
As it can be seen in the charts related to Germany the consumption changed a lot. In 1980 coal and petroleum had the same portion (28 units) and nuclear was approximately at the same rate (20 units) whereas in 2010 the amount of electricity spent on nuclear significantly increased to 155 units and natural gas consumption showed downward trend.
Finally, the provided pie charts show that Germany and New Zealand differently used electricity source and the structure of consumption changed in both countries.
