The pie charts below show electricity generation by source in New Zealand and Germany in 1980 and 2010.
The pie charts illustrate how to generate electricity by different sources in two countries namely New Zealand and Germany in 1980 and 2010.
On the whole, as can be seen the difference between two countries that although coal was popular in New Zealand in both years surveyed, nuclear power was the first position in the second year in Germany.
To begin with New Zealand, in 1980, power was generated the most by coal with 56 units, followed by natural gas and hydro which were equivalent each other at 30 units while petroleum only accounted for 11 units. However, in 2010, coal still kept the same position and increased twofold at 150 units, the lowest used fuel belonged to petroleum and natural gas with 2 units in each.
Turning to Germany, even though only occupied 20 units in 1980, nuclear reached the highest point of 155 units in the last year. Meanwhile, ever ranking the first place together with petroleum with 28 units, natural gas dropped back to 2 units in the last year. Coal and petroleum changed insignificantly.
