Essay topics:

The pie charts show the average consumption of food in the world in 2008 compared to two countries: China and India. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given images illustrate the amount of food consumed by individuals all around the world, compared with two Asian countries which are China and India in 2008. Overall, all three pie charts show that processed food was the most kind of food that was used by individuals. Another noticeable point is that while in the world and in India, animal food played an important role in their eating plans, the rate of it in China was the lowest in 4 examined types of food.

Regarding the information on processed food, the consumption of people in the world, China and India, was always highest, accounting for 41%, 34% and 39% respectively. Besides that, the usage for nuts and seeds was the tiniest rate in three examined areas, 11% for India, which was dramatically lower than that of China, at 19%, but it is still nearly three times higher than the other one in the world, standing at 4%.

Turning into vegetables and fruits, China was the country that had the highest consumption in three regions, at 32%. By contrast, just 29% of the total consumption was for vegetables and foods in the world, and 23% was for that in India. Moreover, the percentage of animal food in the world and India was similar to each other, at 26% and 27% respectively, which was double that rate in China, making up 15% for that kind of food.
