In this compulsory world, there still exists a tendency of people living with their parents after marriage. While such phenomenon has possessed several merits, in my perspective, it is more likely to be problematic for each family relationship.
It can not be denied that living with parents benefits the new married couple in several ways. First of all, given that the couple are still young and need much effort to either consolidate their position at work or strictly follow their career path while their parents could have much spare time, the latter seem to be always obliging to help the former with almost all the housework, leaving more time for them to concentrate on their jobs. Moreover, that those parents usually have more experiences in raising children would also become a valuable support for the young couple in nurturing their kids. On the other hand, living together with parents is probably be a wise choice for the young couple to save money as they need to deal with neither the cost of accommodation nor other living expense.
Notwithstanding the aforementioned advantages, the demerits of this trend are supposed to overshadow. Most notable of all is the increase of dependence attitude of the young mature, which lead to a vulnerable ability to fend for themselves. This problem probably stems from the fact that hardly any children living with parents have to deal with serious living issues such as financial status/ management as they can resort to their parents’ help whenever they need. Furthermore, the elders usually have a tendency to control the younger’s life, as a habit, hence making it a sheltered but cramped and stressful life. Finally, owing to the generation gap and the appearance of a new member, family members are more likely to share distinct school of thoughts, which could easily lead to conflicts, which seem to be too hard to deal successfully while maintaining the harmonious relationship.
In conclusion, although living with parents after marriage brings several dominant benefits to the young adults, it is also causing manifold insurmountable problems, which could break up the family affection.
