Essay topics:

The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The two maps compare Grange Park in two different periods: when it was first available to the public in 1920 and in present day.

Ỏverall, the park has had several significant changes over the years, namely the rose garden, the stage, play area and water feature.

To begin with, the fountain which was once located at the centre of the park in 1920 has been replaced by a rose garden. In addition, the seats which used to be scattered around the park have now been placed surrounding the central rose garden. There used to be a stage for musicians on the left side of the fountain, but that place has now become amphitheatre for concerts.

Furthermore, the place which was glasshouse situated on the right side of the entrance in 1920 has turned into a water feature at present. Across the water feature is the play area for children, which used to be a pond for water plants back in the days. Finally, a cafe has recently appeared next to the play area, in the place that was once a rose garden.
