The diagram illustrates the process of making food by the plants. The major ingredients for making the food are sunlight, water, carbon dioxide and minerals, on the other hand, the byproducts are oxygen and sugar.
The process starts with the roots, by absorbing water and minerals from the soil, whereas the main work is done by the leaves which intakes the carbon-dioxide from the atmosphere and the sunlight during the day time.
