The table below gives information about salaries of secondary/high school teachers in five countries in 2009.
Write a report for a university, lecturer describing the information shown below.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.
The table compares payment for secondary teachers in five countries namely Australia, Denmark, Luxembourg, Japan and Korea in 2009. Overall, it is clear that the amount of money that this group received shows a significant rise after 15 years.
Firstly, after a period of 15 years, high school teachers in Luxembourg were paid the highest salary at 119,000. This was followed by the payment for those in Denmark and Japan, which were at 54,000 and 65,000, respectively. Lastly, Australian and Korean teachers received the same payment of 48,000 after 15 years.
Regarding maximum salary, it can be observed from the table that while teachers in Luxembourg was paid the highest at 132,000, those in Australia got the lowest maximum salary, which was at 48,000. Furthermore, Denish high school teachers spent the shortest time to achieve maximum salary, being at 8 years. In contrast, it took 37 years for their colleagues in Japan to acquire the maximum amount of payment, which places at the slowest group to reach such amount of salary.
