The importance of education has been increasing since last few decades. It is believed by a few individuals that history is important subject to learn, while others advocate that learning science and technology has more importance than history. Although my inclination is with later view, both the view points will be explained in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, there are various reasons why some people are in the favour of learning history. One of the most prominent reasons is that history acts as link between the past and the present. If people do not give importance to the history then they will not get the opportunity to learn about their glorious past and their cultural values. Hence, it is considered that those who forget their history then their culture will be obsoleted. Another point to consider is kept history repeats itself. So, people can learn many things from the mistakes which were occurred by their ancestors and protect themselves by making same mistakes.
On the other hand, I agree with those who argue that science and technology has great importance. Firstly, it is proven that history is one of the most boring subjects in the school curriculum. These days people can find the information related to history by searching it on the internet. Thus, IT act as an extra burden on the students. Apart from that, technology has been changing very rapidly since last few years. So, it is the need of the time to learn science subject today. If students do not give importance in learning science then they will be suffer from laking in the scientific knowledge. Science is the emerging field and it will have a great job opportunities in the next few years.
In conclusion, although studying history has few benefits, I think science and technology has images benefits in everyone's life.
