The table represents data about beef exports of five countries in the years 2012, 2014 and 2016.
Overall, it is evident that Brazil and Uruguay were the clear market leaders throughout the period. However, Japan experienced the most remarkable rise in beef exports.
Looking at the table more closely, one can see that Brazil's beef exports grew from 125 thousand to 137 thousand tonnes within four years, keeping its leading position among the five countries. Maintaining its second place, Uruguay saw the amount of beef shipped to other countries dip to under 40 thousand tonnes in 2014, before rebounding two years later.
With a nearly fivefold increase, Japan witnessed the most dramatic increase in its beef export quantities, reaching a peak of over 1000 tonnes in 2016. Similar to Uruguay, Switzerland saw a slight reduction in its beef exports, recording only 17 tonnes in 2014, before rising to 22 tonnes in 2016. The opposite trend was experienced by Norway: beef exports surged to 81 tonnes in 2014, before decreasing substantially to a mere 17 tonnes at the end of the period.
