The table above gives information of average distance traveled in miles by various mode of travel made by each person every year in England.
In general, the sum of distances of all modes raises significantly from 1985 to 2000. Of all modes, the long-distance bus makes the most significant increase with 129% from 1985 (3199 miles) to 2000 (4806 miles) followed by taxi with an increase of 123% from 450 miles to 585 miles in the range of 1985-2000.
The car still being the mode with the longest average distance traveled in England from with an increase of 1607 miles more in 2000. Other and Train mode also having an increase in terms of average distance and being the second and third longest average distance in 2000, respectively.
From all modes listed above, bicycle and local bus make a decrease in their average distance. Bicycle decrease 10 miles from 1985 to 2000 while local bus makes a significant decrease from 429 miles in 1985 to 274 miles in 2000.
