The table illustrates five distinct nations in terms of the consumption of consumers on various categories in the year 2002.
It is clear that Food/Drinks/Tobacco was spent on the most in all countries. By contrast, these nations allocated the least to Leisure/Education at the same time.
Regarding Food/Drinks/Tobacco, the proportion of Turkey was highest at 32.14%, followed by that of Ireland at 28.91%. In comparison, the figure for other nations was around 17%. It is also noticeable that Clothing/Footwear made up 9% of consumers’ budget in Italy, which was higher than other countries. Ireland, Spain and Turkey expended approximately 6.5% of their expenditure on Clothing/Footwear, compared to only 5.4% of Sweden.
With regard to Leisure/Education, Turkey had the highest percentage in this category at 4.35%. Meanwhile, the figures in Italy and Sweden were nearly the same, at around 3.2%. While the proportions of the two remaining nations, Ireland and Spain, were 3.2% and 1.98% respectively.
