Essay topics:

The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002.

The table reveals the percentage of domestic buyers’ spending on three different groups in Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Turkey in 2002.
It can be seen from the table that food/drinks/tobacco was regarded as the highest proportion in all three items, whilst leisure/education was spent the lowest in 2002.
First and foremost, Turkey reached the highest percentage of food/drinks/tobacco and leisure/education expenditure among five nations, 32.14% and 4.35% respectively. Meanwhile, it was Italy that accounted for 9.00%, which was looked on as the biggest proportion among all nations in 2002.
In contrast, as we can seen from the table, the percentage of national customers spending on leisure/education in Spain was the lowest, which made up 1.98%. Contrary to Turkey, Sweden is the country which reached the smallest percentage in two different fields: food/drinks/tobacco and clothing/footwear, 15.77% and 5.40% in turn. Last but not least, Ireland was one of the most stable countries, which always kept on average. Moreover, it is interesting to find that the proportion of customer expenditure in Ireland in leisure/education was the second lowest nation (2.21%); meanwhile, it was also Ireland that was the second biggest proportion in food/drinks/tobacco (28.91%).
